National capacities for civil protection and disaster management are increasingly being overcome by cascading or simultaneous disasters. The Covid-19 pandemic and Russia's war against Ukraine have again revealed the need for better preparation for Europe. Because it must prepare for future large-scale emergencies, while pointing to the limits of the current framework.

Over the past 15 years, the European Civil Protection Forum has become an important European gathering of practitioners and decision makers in the field of civil protection. A rally organized by ECHO, the European Commission's Directorate-General for PC and European Humanitarian Aid Operations.

The 7th edition of the Forum was a platform for a common reflection on the current and future role of European civil protection policy. This 7th European Civil Protection Forum was held in Brussels at the The Square Convention Centre. On 28 and 29 June 2022, it welcomed actors involved in the development and implementation of the European PC. It also invited non-European countries facing recent disasters.

At the invitation of the creative agency CartoonbaseI had the pleasure of covering with two other colleagues the event in visual facilitation. And in English.
