In November 2021, a few months before the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Embassy of France in Belgium and the Directorate-General for Digital Transformation of the Belgian SPF BOSA organised the Homo Numericus conference cycle.
The first conference, on 8 November, was devoted to Immersive age: new narratives and new imaginations. Conference visual ease.
Recent technological developments make it possible to design immersive worlds that are invested by actors in the animation, image and production sectors. The AR/VR immersion and the new UX/UI forms upset the economic models of the cultural and creative industries. They generate new income and new logics for product development and public financing. These same parameters also change the narrative rules. They have an impact on their creative rules (interactive and immersive storytelling, new ways of digital distribution of knowledge or cultural experiences). At the heart of this new economic environment is the question of forms of public access to innovative narrative regimes. But also the support needed to ensure a future for this expanding sector.
Mathieu Michel, Belgian State Secretary for Digitalisation, opened the conference cycle.
